Would you believe that I played little league baseball on the Inlet Mets summer team? I didn't think so, but it's true, I swear! I got the worst uniform and had to stand in the outfield in the hot sun. There were no grand stands, as in this view of an Inlet base ball park, when I was a little baseball star, and I have no clue who "Tiffany and Bill" are, but it's a nice shot, isn't it?
Tiffany and Bill: Frank E. Tiffany was the first supervisor of the new Town of Inlet in 1902, he held that post until the late 1920s. Bill is William Bill who was a Town Clerk for Inlet. Tiffany started a real estate business in 1908 that today is Burkhard Evans in Inlet. Tiffany and Bill owned the land and built a baseball park where teams from the various Fulton Chain hotels of that time would compete. The evangelist Billy Sunday played on this field. He had been a semi pro player. Today it is Inlet's Fern Park.
