The Adirondack Boys Love: Antique Alabaster Lamps

Overhead lighting is so - over. We love lamplight because it's gentle, elegant, and beautiful. A lamp like this one, in alabaster, is an inexpensive way to add style to a room. Here, the lamp sits beside a bed in the guest bedroom with a copy of American Bungalow (great magazine, by the way, for all Arts & Crafts bungalow fans), on a handmade adirondack wood table purchased at the Inlet craft show a few years ago. Alabaster lamps are regularly available on ebay and can be customized with a beautiful shade (this one is linen). Whatever you do, stay away from fluorescent lights: it makes us sick even thinking about them.
